Dr. Kate Gasparro brings a background spanning policy, engineering, finance, and development, making her a natural bridge between disciplines, institutions, and the communities they serve. She has led major urban development efforts at the City of San Diego, Bedrock, and FivePoint, spanning mega infrastructure projects to large-scale mixed-use communities. These efforts involve high-profile stakeholders, layered approvals, and intricate contracting structures — the kind of complexity Kate thrives in. With Next Infrastructure, Kate works to align public and private sector leaders around shared goals to deliver sustainable, community-centered outcomes. This commitment to bridging sectors is also the foundation of Building Better Cities, which she founded in 2017 to help urban leaders identify innovative approaches to infrastructure and land reuse. Kate holds a PhD and MA from Stanford University, a BS from Clemson University, and is a licensed Professional Engineer in California.
